Charlotte Riots: It’s Something Much Deeper

Right behind a local pastor’s home in Charlotte, the riots ensued on Tuesday night. Helicopters raced over his yard barely touching the roof of his house. He has little children who laid in their beds and slept through the unexplainable noises. He had done nothing wrong, yet he was in the line of fire. He was faced with an onslaught of thoughts while trying to make sure his family was protected. The neighborhood exits were blocked, and if the rioters came any closer, they had a to make a decision on whether or not they would have to leave on foot or stay at home. What would he do? How would he react? Innocent people are being affected by immature acts of violence. Let’s not cry out for peace while expressing rage.

Jesus Wept and So Did I: Grieving After Tragedy

I remember the first time death encountered my life. I was in middle school. One of my dearest friends took his life. It devastated me. I instantly wanted to die. Yes, I thought of taking my life at the age of 13. Pain, fear, loneliness, and guilt, all had a hay day in my mind and heart. Now, I wasn’t a believer at 13, but I was “churched”. What I mean is that I went to church, heard good teachings, lifted my hands during worship, and I even sang in the choir, I was not a Christian. I had learned the proper way to act and how to respond to things to make it seem like I was a genuine. I learned to mask who I was. When the properly masked child threatens suicide, that proper image, and perception, flew out the socially acceptable Christian window.

Pursuing Excellence in Ministry: What Motivates You?

In our society, excellence is something that people constantly strive for…but what is their motivation? Most of the time the motivation behind ‘being the best’ is selfish: pride, greed, the need for approval, and vanity are some of the few ways these motives manifest. In business, finances, fashion, and entertainment, people are plagued with that desire to be the richest, have the most material possessions, and look the best. Over the last few years, the Lord has been teaching me what it means to pursue excellence in ministry.
As musicians, as worship leaders, as preachers, or as anyone serving in any way the body of Christ; it’s important to steward what the Lord has given you. Not taking His gifts lightly, but pursuing excellence.

As much as God honors our acts of excellence, He is also searching our hearts “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

Being an Honest Worship Leader in a Brutally “Honest” Society

Music is more than talent; it’s the expression of your heart. Change that and all that’s left is the beating of a drum, the banging of keys, the strums of metal, and noises from a mouth. Years and years of the brutal beatdown’s of how a worshiper should or shouldn’t sound, or how their lyrics should and shouldn’t be constructed have caused so many to conform to the so-called standard of what will sell or what will please.

Worship: On Earth as It Is in Heaven

I’ve often wondered what it would be like when Jesus returns. The blast of the final trumpet, the sound of the heavens being rent in two, and the great shout of victory; a pledge of allegiance to our Great King! What it would look like to see Him leading captivity in triumphal procession and with every step, His authority, His Kingdom being released over the all the earth.

If you are interested in knowing the total cost or any other information, you are welcome to message me directly. You contribution would be greatly appreciated! We would love to give you one of the first copies of the album!
