For those of you who want to know…here is a more personal look into my heart and life.
My story is that of the prodigal daughter. I was born in Manila, Philippines into a family that loves Jesus. My Father was a Muslim until a radical conversion in January 1987, and my Mother was a teacher of the Word and sang on the worship team. They helped plant and establish several vital churches in the Philippines. When I was 4 years old, I told my Mom I wanted to be a missionary. Years passed and I forgot about my original dream… but God did not forget.
I have a desire for the message of wholehearted love to be released because growing up I had a desire to be radical but never heard a message or standard that called me to live in that way. My heart was in a constant struggle. I remember genuine moments of love with God, but soon after, I was back in sin. This struggle continued until I graduated from high school.
You will be wholehearted about something…God or sin. After graduation, I gave myself wholeheartedly to sin. Every time I think about where I was and what He had to break through to win my heart back, I’m overwhelmed with love. God, who without sin, loved a sinner like me, called my name, and desired I would be with Him. God’s love for us is stronger than the chains of sin. On September 2, 2006, I was saved from hell.
In the summer of 2007, I encountered the heart of God and He forever changed my life. He gave me a heart for prayer and fasting like I have never known before.
I was at Resound Missions Base from August 2007 – December 2012 leading worship, doing outreach, praying, preaching and reading the Word of God. In January 2013…I moved to Charlotte, NC to be part of FIRE. I serve as the Worship Director of FIRE School of Ministry and the Worship Pastor of FIRE Church. God placed a deep yearning in my heart for the nations to be reached by the power of the Gospel through word and song. The more I know about Jesus…the more I love Him. My heart’s desire is that my life would bring Him glory. The world is influencing all arenas of life with music. It’s time for the warriors of God to arise and wage war with their weapons of worship against the giants of this world. As for me, my voice is my weapon of choice. I believe that when we open our mouths, hell shakes and heaven opens. God is looking…He is searching for those who aren’t trying to sound like everyone else and be like everyone else by singing the “same song,” but who, confident of who they are before Him, are willing to give themselves to Him daily and wait on Him to release the new song! Jesus is coming! He is coming! Let the worshipers arise to usher the King in!
As for my team, we believe as worshipers we can change the atmosphere of every place that we go. Jesus told His disciples to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and cast out demons. When we go into a city…we believe just that. Leading worship is not about a church building…it’s a heart. It’s absolute abandon to Jesus. There is a high calling for each of us. He is calling. He is inviting.
Jesus is coming! He is coming! Let the worshippers arise to usher the King in!
